This was sent by a fellow animal lover...

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter... the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"

God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly. "I have done something," He replied. "I created you."

Take The Blinders Off

A Pet For Life removed twenty-three (23) dogs from a mobile home in our area on February 3rd; ten (10) adults & thirteen (13) puppies, one of which is at a veterinarian’s office and may not survive. This deplorable situation began with a single breeding pair, between the ages of 5 and 8 years old. The owner, who is very ill, did not keep these animals with malicious intent. He loves the dogs, but he’s unable to care for them, physically or financially. This situation could easily have been avoided. There are close neighbors to the property and local family members. Twenty-three dogs didn’t just happen overnight, this was years in the making. For the benefit and safety of the animals and the owner, someone could have and should have alerted the proper authorities before this became so out of control. Had the original pair been altered, this would have been prevented. Please be aware of pet owners around you. If something doesn’t look or feel right, contact a rescuer or an animal shelter. Don’t just turn your back and ignore a potential situation such as this. What a blessing we were able to help these babies who have suffered unnecessarily.

Our handsome Prince Charming was delivered to his new home on Thursday, 01/28/10.

Buster, our little Pug, went to live with his new family on Monday, 01/25/10.

Zoe, our sweet Border Collie Mix, went to live with her new family on Saturday, 01/23/10.
